  • Strengthen social skills and self-esteem
  • Restabilize after a psychiatric crisis
  • Succeed in school
  • Decrease conflict with family members, teachers, and peers
  • Heal from traumatic effects of abuse
  • Recover from emotional distress

Counseling for children and young people may differ from counseling for adults and will depend on the child’s age, specific difficulties and they are in their development. Different methods may be used to encourage young children to be able to express their the emotions that can be difficult for them to put in to words. Some methods such as play and art (i.e. drawing, painting, drama) can be beneficial for developmentally younger clients. Older children may prefer talking therapy, or a mixture of both . Which evidenced-based approach used depends on each individual client to meet them where they are at emotionally.

Our skilled counselors can diagnose & counsel children ages 3 & older.
